2017 Advocacy/Elementary IS Joint Spring Event

Successfully Advocating and Supporting your ELs in your work Environment

A Professional Development Session co-sponsored by Advocacy and Elementary Education Interest Sections

As ESOL teachers, part of our job is advocating and supporting our English Learner (EL) students in our school or building. However, it may be difficult due to an unwelcoming environment, unsupportive staff or faculty with no experience working with ELs. What do we do in those cases? Come hear some tricks of the trade from veteran ESOL teachers in a panel. Collaborate with your colleagues on these issues in roundtable discussions. Enjoy a delicious lunch and network with other TESOL professionals!

Who: TESOL professionals and educators (teachers, administrators, counselors, etc.)

What: A panel and roundtable discussion on advocating for and supporting your ELs in your work environment.

When: Saturday April 29, 2017 from 12:00-3:00 (lunch will be served).

Where: Arbutus Branch of the Baltimore County Library,

855 Sulphur Spring Road Arbutus, MD 21227

Please pre-register on MDTESOL’s site. Space is limited; No walk-ins.
